On Wednesday night, while we were all asleep upstairs, two men tried to break into our house. Fortunately, they were not Britain’s most talented burglars and didn’t manage to get in (score one for the solid Victorian front door) but we still had 10 rather terrifying minutes not knowing whether they had made it in or not before the police arrived.
