With summer comes the lazy days of comforting familiarity; easy living, easy loving…

…easy leaving.  The autumnal shedding of everything that was vibrant and rich and precious.  One by one, shreds of dignity fall onto the dampening ground and fade before being trampled underfoot and left to blacken and rot.

And winter will bring the desolation.  The bare, chilling reality that it’s over.  The hues of grey and penetrating winds are reminders of the bleakness of separation.
