Why I Am On The Organ Donation Register… and I’ve Told My Family

Whilst I was at school I remember someone coming in to talk to us about organ donation. At 16 years of age, and believing that I will have no use for my physical body after I die, signing a card saying ‘Please use any of my organs or tissues in the treatment of others’ was an easy decision and for years I carried an organ donation card around with me.

That card was lost long ago but the issue of Organ Donation has been at the forefront of my mind again recently. As many of you will know I am a member (and committee member) of the New City Girls Women’s Institute and part of the appeal of the WI for me is a chance to become involved in their national campaigns.
