Whatever happened to Saturday nights?

Whatever happened to Saturday nights?

It is ten past eight on a Saturday night, and I am in my nightie watching a documentary about earthquakes.

Once upon a time I would just be thinking about going out. Eyeliner applied, drink in hand, music blaring to get me in the mood.

Now I have a cup of tea and BBC4. Still have eyeliner on though.

There isn't even anything good on the telly, I am partial to a factual science programme, but it is hardly rock'n'roll. And neither is the X Factor before anyone suggests it.

My other half is out doing a gig, the kids are asleep/skulking in their rooms. I have the lounge to myself, the room is my oyster. I never did fancy the idea of oysters tho, odd slimy looking things, no thanks.
