Dear The Crazy Kitchen and Mummy Mishaps , This week I have been mostly channelling the essence of my mother and making a suet pudding for dinner on Sunday! Mum was famed far and wide for her suet pud, whether it was stuffed with bacon and onions or currants steak and kidney or homemade jam! So as a promise for my darling Dad, Badger and Bernard I attempted a gluten free spotted dick! Pretty easy you may think, given that a good gluten free flour mix is widely available these days. However Supermarket bought suet is coated in wheat flour to stop it sticking! So on the advice of a friend on line I spent my morning grated frozen lard! Wearing my mums apron for extra good luck and channelling ability, I set to work!
