Tradition ‘Brass Monkey Cruise’

Every year on Boxing Day the boat club have an end of season cruise on the canal. Unless it’s icy the cruise goes ahead, of course it is always cold hence the name ’brass monkey’ cruise.

The boat itself is warm and cosy, with the wood burner lit and hot drinks on supply it is a lovely way to spend a very bright and sunny winters day. After our cruise all the boats moored up outside the club, the big kids did the tying up and thoroughly enjoyed their trip.After tying the boat up we all went into the clubhouse for hearty hot soup and sandwiches
