Teachers' strike

So the teachers are on strike and I am at home with the kids, and do you know what? I don't even mind. They may be right, they may be wrong, they may be selfish or irresponsible. Say what you like, it's not going to change things. They are on strike, school is closed and I am just going to go with it.

I see it as a rare and precious gift. I don't get much quality time with my kids. We are always under pressure, balancing school and work and hobbies. I'm always nagging them to get ready, to do their homework and to hurry up. But not today. Today we are going to relax because the teachers have given us all a break from routine. It is not just a day off from school and work, it is a day off from life. Our Wednesday routine is about them going to school and me going to work. If we don't have that, we have a totally free day.
