The thing that I am loving about joining in with Jenny and Helen's Great Bloggers Bake Off is that I am trying out new recipes. I absolutely adore baking, but I do tend to stick to recipes that I know and love. This week I was also keen to try out my amazing new Joseph Joseph Scales that I was very kindly sent from Debenhams. My old scales have been lurking in my kitchen for about twenty years, so it was lovely to have some digital ones.
This week the theme was sweet dough and my first thought was a tea cake. I love tea cakes, to me they are a lovely snack and real comfort food when toasted and covered with lashings of butter. I didn't get round to baking until Friday, so I found a nice Hairy Bikers recipe on the BBC Good Food website and substituted or left out the ingredients that I didn't have.
