Spicy Fruit Loaf

Spicy Fruit Loaf » Welcome to Hellie's Corner

One of my favourite breads has to be a fruit loaf, so a few weeks ago I decided to make my own. After an unsucessful hunt for a recipe, I turned to my breadmaker’s instruction book and found a recipe for a spicy fruit loaf.

The loaf was a huge success, it’s great fresh on it’s own, or with butter and also delicious toasted.

Makes 1 medium loaf

You'll need the foloowing to make it ~

110ml semi skimmed milk

110ml warm water

2 medium free range eggs

1 tsp mixed spice

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp salt

75g butter

2 tsp sugar

400g strong white bread flour

1 tsp dried rapid action yeast

125g mixed dried fruit (sultanas, currents and mixed peel)
