Social Media One Stop Shop?

Is there a one-stop-shop for social media?  Or is it desirable?  xkcd  posted  a cartoon this week:

If you go to the website and hover over the cartoon, they always offer a sort of punch line or explanation. I always find myself clicking on the site in my reader and hovering over the cartoon to see what else they have to say.

If you noticed on my social media links to the right, I don’t include a link to a Facebook page or even my profile. For me I want to keep Facebook separate because if I go there, I want to interact with my family and old friends. I didn’t really even include my coworkers when I was teaching – only a few that were really good friends.
