Short and Sweet; cupcakes and love

As some may know I do love my food. I love eating it, cooking it, I care about where it comes from, who makes it, and I generally get excited by it, especially if I'm not doing the washing up. What I do not love is baking. I am really not much of a baker. Baking to me requires precision, it's done with a different kind of passion for my fiery heart, a methodical, careful, precise approach. No free styling. No flying by the seat of your pants. In fact my relationship with food and making it may well come close to describing my approach to life - hmm, perhaps I should bake more?

In any case, as I said, as a general rule, I am not a baker. Apart from once a year. Ok, twice. When I was a working mother I felt horribly guilty for being apart from Missy G, who was then my Super Tot. Baking her birthday cakes rather than getting shop-bought in my mind assuaged some of the guilt. It was my mummy-duty I would laughingly say, as I iced those red-velvet cupcakes that have become tradition.
