Savour the flavour « Watching the pennies

I’ve blogged before about Thrifty Sunday lunches but I love them so much that I’ve just had to do it again! During the carnage that is a New Year trip to the supermarket I stumbled upon a joint of braising steak. Having been well taught by my mother (but shhh, don’t tell her or I’ll never hear the end of it) I knew that slow-cooked Braising steak can have a better flavour than the more expensive cuts. So, into the trolley it went and two days later it was cooked up in our slow cooker.
