Royal Park Boutique Hotel, Budapest

In February I attended my first Traverse event in Newcastle and during lunch on the first day was handed this:

Everyone who attended the 2 day event received one with instructions from lowcostholidays to tweet a picture of their boarding pass using the hashtag #flymeto.

People always say, including me, that they never win anything… but this time I did; I won a trip to Budapest for two with flights and accommodation taken care of. And since then I’ve entered every travel competition I see as well as the EuroMillions each week although unfortunately my luck seems to be on hiatus at the moment.

Phil and I stayed in the four star Royal Park Boutique Hotel on Nefelejcs street on the Pest side of the capital, and a 40 minute walk to Elisabeth Bridge which leads to Buda. Our check in was really quick and easy and we were soon in our quiet room on the fourth floor overlooking the hotel’s courtyard rather than the street, so undisturbed sleeps were had by all. The room had a Nespresso machine as well as a well stocked minibar, bottles of water and a few chocolate bars.
