Postcard from Cornwall: Sunset

The peachy, not quite full, moon was slung low on the horizon to one side of the bay.  On the other, a beautiful blazing sunset was slowly sprawling across the sky.

It had been a long tiring day; a good sort of tiring - the sort that is both draining and uplifting all at once.  There had been sandcastles, a picnic, ice-cream and climbing amongst the ruins of an ancient village.  There had been laughter and excitement, giggles and dribbles.  And now, bathed and story-ed, the children were snoring softly in their beds.

From the balcony we watched as the sunset faded, and the moon soon regained its ivory complexion.
