Mini Gardens for children

Mini Gardens for children

My children created their own mini gardens the other day and I thought I’d share with you how we did it and what we bought.

We chose small containers suitable for the children so littlest had two wicker baskets with handles that were easy to carry whilst eldest chose a plastic tub with more room for her creative ideas!

We’re quite good at creating our own compost so fortunately there wasn’t any need to buy some, but a small bag would be plenty.

First the children each chose a spring bulb (both went for tulips), a herb, an alpine and some heather. I explained to them about colour and size so we went for matching colours and small plants. If they grow too big for their current homes, we’ll just re-pot.
