Local Loves - Rutland Water

Living in the East Midlands means we are quite a way away from the sea. If I remember rightly, the nearest beach is about 2 hours away which, with 3 children is a bit of a nightmare! But we are lucky that there are still many nice places to visit and feel like we are at the seaside, well sort of!

One such place we love to visit is Rutland Water, in the heart of the smallest county in England Rutland. There are many entrances into the reservoir, but the one we mainly use is near the village of Empingham. This is mainly because there is a great wooden play area, a gift shop, crazy golf and a cafe.
