Earlier this week, I made some homemade hot cross buns, so they would be ready for Good Friday. Unfortunately they were a failure. Surprisingly, as I’d made them in the bread maker, they were quiet hard, I think adding cold water rather than warm water was my problem. I was about to consign them to my recycling bin, when Mr HC suggested they would be fine for making a hot cross bun pudding. I dug out my croissant pudding recipe, adjusted it slightly (the buns already had sultanas and spices in them so didn’t need more adding) and made it.
So if you’ve got any left over hot cross buns, that are slightly stale, you can turn them into a delicious pudding
