I have been a mother of a teenage son for almost a year now, and as he approaches his fourteenth birthday, I feel a little more qualified to write this post about things they don’t tell you about teenage sons. I thought weaning and potty training were bad with this son of mine and trust me when I say that it still feels like yesterday that we were hitting those milestones. Believe me when I say that nothing prepares you for being the mother of a teenage son – the crazy things that are sad and done, the awkward behaviour, the mood swings. It can be quite exhausting at times, and a real drain on my patience, so much more then when he was a little boy and he would make a mess or draw on the walls at home. I know it is all worth it though. My boy is also really quick witted, incredible helpful and is turning into a really great young man.
