Yesterday I took the kids on an impromptu visit to the zoo after school. We only had an hour before it closed, but they didn’t mind; they were free to run around and see the few animals left that can survive a New England winter, and that made them happy.
Me? Well, I enjoyed watching the excitement and listening to the laughter, and I enjoyed the lights. Our local zoo has a Christmas Zoo Lights event, which will go to over the holidays, but I hadn’t expected all the lights to be switched on in the afternoon. It was starting to get dark; the lights were becoming brighter as dusk fell.
