Family Fun: Getting back in to board games

Regular readers will know that as a family we tend to get most of our fun outdoors enjoying the wonderful county of Cumbria. However at this time of year we are forced to spend more time in doors. Therefore I have been spending more time playing board games with my children. A big family Christmas also included plenty of games too as there was very little TV watching. Here are some of the games we have been enjoying over the last week:

Mexican Train

This was a new one for us and we were introduced to it on Christmas Eve. Originally we played on a double-9 domino set and then I bought our own double-12 which comes with the special station.

You have to basically create a train using dominoes and be the first one out. All of the family from aged 7 upwards loved this and I am sure it will be played regularly. The pieces marking the train came from the next game.

Dr Who Monopoly
