“Paper or plastic?” Paper, please!

Plastic pollution is defined as the accumulation of plastic debris and products in the environment, negatively impacting wildlife, wildlife habitat, and humans. It is a common sight in most of our everyday lives: tangled plastic bags in bushes on the side of the road, empty plastic bottles floating in the neighbouring river, plastic debris washed up on the shore by the sea… However, its impact on the open ocean and its wildlife is still relatively unknown and understudied.
