Don't Leave It To The Last Minute

My lovely Grandad is very poorly. When I visited on Friday it was the first time I realised we may lose him, and I left his hospital ward feeling tearful and useless as we can do very little to help. This sense of foreboding has been with me all weekend, lurking at the edges of our birthday celebrations for the big boy. I told him I loved him before I left, but I wanted to do more. It is so hard to get the words out when death is the unspoken elephant in the room. Maybe he will get better? Will I jinx things if I say goodbye? If I could get the words out I would thank him:-
