Sloe sloe quick quick sloe.
On a country lane near my house I found an abundance of sloes, and while it seems that I may have picked them early I wanted to nab them before anyone else did. Perhaps this year they have come out to play earlier than usual as articles tell me to wait until first frost, roughly early October, woops. I have probably googled up about ten different recipes now and they all give different measurements for the ratio of sloes, caster sugar and gin (or vodka).
While my jars are sterilising (in the dish washer on a hot setting) I am getting the ingredients ready.
