Country Kids: making potions in the garden

Country Kids: making potions in the garden What more could you need for an hour of fun in the garden? A water filled sledge, sticks, leaves and a little bit of mud…

I remember loving to make potions as a child. Mud pies, flower cakes; as long as it involved dirt, water, leaves, flowers and seeds it was a hit. I particularly enjoyed it when our creations later sprouted green shoots (generally grass!). There is definitely something to be said for the process of mixing and splashing and digging and sploshing and adding and stirring. A dash of mud and a sprinkle of leaves!
