Goodbye trusted and loved Cadbury’s and helllloooo Claridge’s new Art Deco Easter egg.
The unveiling of Claridge’s Easter egg marks the arrival of spring in London (hurrah!) with this year’s design combining themes of timeless glamour and rich Art Deco heritage taken from the hotel’s surroundings. For over a century, the hotel’s Art Deco checkerboard lobby has welcomed everyone from royalty, dignitaries, celebrities and even me, and serves as the inspiration of the iconic Claridge’s Easter egg.
Head Pastry Chef Ross Sneddon has created 100 limited-edition Deco eggs with Valrhona dark, milk and white chocolate. Using the finest cacaos, two halves are created, cooled and filled with a selection of homemade chocolate quail eggs then carefully packaged in a bright green box, wrapped in bespoke black and white Art Deco foil, and tied with a black satin bow.
