For what seems like forever, I’ve had a bottle of chocolate beer in my cupboard from when I visited the chocolate factory in Brugge. I’ve been hesitant to open it because I didn’t want to drink it in one go as it would feel like such a waste of my waiting. So, I thought I’d find a way of savouring it for a little longer.
Now, if you’re not a beer lover, or even if you’re not particularly fond of beer, fear not! I’m definitely not and I would use this recipe again and again!
If you don’t have a huge sweet tooth then the beer certainly helps to dull the sweetness of the chocolate a little. The flavour is still rich and the texture is beautiful – lovely and moist which is great as I usually find chocolate cake can be pretty dry.
