Blurred Lines | Thoughts from Currency Festival

I can count on one hand the number of times in the last six months that I’ve watched a show labelled ‘dance’ that has actually had some dance in it. I love interdisciplinary work, anything that’s vibrant, visual and stimulating, and I understand that using numerous mediums can be helpful to get a point across. However, it seems that it’s becoming more and more common to label work as ‘contemporary dance’ when ‘performance art’ or just ‘theatre’ might be more suited.
