Last Sunday morning, out of the blue, I was hit by the funk again. That familiar nagging feeling of negativity seeping into the skin. Grr go away siah. I shook it off and chose not to let it anchor me down. I stopped my Transcription assignment and told the kid to grab her skate scooter and her dinosaurs, we are going to sit under a tree I said.
I brought along the shoe box from last night's Mom's shoe shopping, some art materials, a storybook from Julia Donaldson called Tyrannosaurus Drip and marched downstairs with the kid.
Told her to pick a tree that she liked; with lots of shades please thank you.
Kid got excited and scooted away. She found a nice spot for us to sit. Although we were facing the traffic, we were being blocked by a couple of trees in front, so it was not so bad. The light breeze brushing against our skin and the sun was just right, it felt like a perfect day was about to begin!
