Amberley Cow Hunt

"We’re going on a cow hunt, we’re going to catch a big one….” was being repetitively chanted in our car all the way to Amberley. Because we were going to go and scout out one of those slightly nutty events that our British villages do so well.

Amberley is a very pretty little village south of Stroud but before Nailsworth and they have been hosting the annual cow hunt for the last 6 years in celebration of the cows arriving to graze on the common for the summer. It’s one of those lovely things that marks the seasons and really shows that summer is deliciously close.
