We’ve just returned from four days in Italy…the lovely little port of Cesenatico in Emilia-Romagna. Yes, granted, a little longer than a weekend, but thinking that made each day an extra treat. The sun shone everyday and we were back into the summer zone…flirty clothes, factor 30 and siestas!
Cesenatico is a gem of a place and was completely unknown to us before this voyage. We had the luck of staying in the ‘star’ hotel…the Grand Hotel Cesenatico (the name says it all). The hotel is located on the main seafront square (opposite the rather out of place looking 118m skyscraper which was apparently in the top 30 of Europe’s tallest buildings for a few years…but did prove a good landmark when we were exploring). It’s a very grand looking building, with an equally impressive entrance. The hotel staff were fabulous and the food…well…having to adjust to life sans non-stop gorgeous food…well it’s hard…it’s back to austerity here (porridge for breakfast…no more daily G&Ts or Prosecco…you know how it is).
