Yesterday we decided to use our National Trust membership to try somewhere different. I have driven past Cannons Ashby many a time without stopping, mainly when I was on the way to my antenatal classes, which were held in Woodford Halse, in the middle of the Northamptonshire countryside.
We have already used our membership quite a bit already with a few visits to Stowe Gardens, but I thought it would be nice to see somewhere different and we were not disappointed!
Cannons Ashby is an Elizabethan manor house that overlooks the rolling hills of Northamptonshire. It boasts a lovely little tea rooms that sells homemade cakes, jacket potatoes, soup and sandwiches. We chose to sit outside in the courtyard to have lunch, so the girls could practise using their new binoculars on the numerous birds that were attracted by our crumbs.
