Otherness – approaching multiculturalism to children

Having recently posted about skin colour on the blog, the topic about addressing multiculturalism as well as colour to children has been floating to the surface of a fair few conversations recently too. I had a chat recently with someone who had previously mentioned that he would not want to have mixed race children “because they’d get teased in the playground”. On this occasion, he was talking to me about whether Missy G ever brought colour up, and I said, funnily enough, yes, and I’ve just posted about it recently.
