Olympics Calling – getting excited now: London 2012 is here!

ust caught the end of the BBC TV coverage in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony this evening and I must confess, as they were played out by The Clash’s ‘London Calling’ I felt a little shiver of excitement.

It’s been like living in some kind of Vietnam film these last few days in Hackney. I’ve lost count of the number of choppers, ‘copters and chinooks flying overhead, a couple of them barely clearing the top of our house.
