Spinning and Felting

Spinning and Felting | Stephanie Croydon As a textile artist i have learnt how to make felted images using pre-dyed and carded wool, soft and clean and ready to use. I had the chance to learn how to spin wool and didn’t realise that this is still a process used by some people. I didn’t use a traditional spinning wheel I used a whorl (above) and they’re very easy to pop into your bag so you can spin on the bus or train etc. my teacher was very good and made it look really easy. Despite it being very relaxing i found it quite hard to get the hang of, none of my spun wool had any sort of uniformity to it and looks pretty rubbish!.....
