In addition to the Most Peculiar Afternoon Tea I had at The Westin Dublin just before Christmas with my family, the hotel also created a gluten free Festive Afternoon Tea for my mum. Going by the usual gluten free bread and treats you see this afternoon tea was miiiiles ahead of the game; the sandwiches looked edible and not crumbling to pieces, as did the cranberry and pecan scone and flourless chocolate cake. And I have it on good authority they tasted equally as good.
Again, it was served in The Atrium Lounge and we started off with a glass of wine followed by the all-important tea.
I thought the Wedgewood china looked a bit dated but then again it had charm and maybe to someone like my sister who is a designer it would be considered vintage.
I didn’t have enough of the festive tea to give a full review but I still wanted to share the photos and say thank you to the chefs for creating a gluten free option.
