For my birthday in January this year I got a Western Digital Passport Hard drive.

Nope, not a very sexy gift but it was just what I wanted so I could back up my Mac using the Time Machine.

I’ve used it maybe once a month (3 or 4 times) to do the backups with no problems at all, until this morning.

I plugged it in, the light came on and the gentle whizzy noise could be heard, but the computer could not see it.

I plugged and unplugged, I re-started the computer, I tried it on another computer, but nothing.

It refuses to be seen…
