Freedom & independance in children

Life has certainly changed since I was a child. There were days when I could wander into town by myself without my parents freaking out – back then there were no mobiles where we could contact our parents at the drop of a hat. I’m sure my fear of the harm that might happen to my children massively outweighs the reality, but sometimes watching the news and all the doom and gloom does not help. Another parents idea of freedom for their children, such as playing in the street at all hours of the day, is an alarm call
