What you do not do is creep down the slip road, stop when you get to the motorway and then wait for someone in the outside lane to notice you and move over. If you do that you will cause an accident as the other people trying to drive properly will crash into you because few regular road users expect anyone to be so stupid as to wait by the outside lane of a motorway, stationary, for an opportunity to join traffic passing at 70 miles per hour.
