19-03-12 Love Businesses Weekly Showcase

19 March

Howdy partners.

Remember a few weeks ago I chatted about Pinterest; and how I loved it.  Well since the realisation that there is a bit of a copyright minefield thang going on with the site, I have very much shied away from it – how about you all? Which is actually a shame as it brought traffic to the blog, and interest in the business.

I am hoping that Pinerly might make a biiiiiiig difference to me, and potentially you as well.

It’s a new tool that is being launching slowly; you can sign up through this link to get invites, and the more people you introduce, the more likely you are to get an invite.  Cool, huh?

It will allow you to manage, and even schedule your pins.  Which is definitely something I am interested in, and I hope you are too.

So go and take a look – what do you think, could you do with a scheduling tool for Pinterest?  Would it help?  Or is it just another things that you will have to get your head around for your business?

KiddyCharts Printable Reward Charts News: We’ve been eBay-ed!

Its been a ground-breaking week for KiddyCharts Printable Reward Charts.

eBay Exclusive

Firstly, we started the development of the new site.

And now, we finally have some of our charts in circulation – you can really buy them.

I’m an impatient soul, that was the problem. Waiting for the site to be up and running before I sold any KiddyCharts wasn’t really going to work.

eBay seemed like a sensible alternative, so there you have it – we now have a few listings on the site.

Why Psychology is a Great Tool for Your Business

Psychology is something I use every day in developing and marketing my own businesses, yet I don’t think I have ever written about it.

Don’t let the ‘ology’ put you off: psychology could be the secret business development tool that you have been missing out on. Using psychology can help you focus your products and services and maximise the effectiveness of your marketing. And all you really need to do is think about how your customers and potential customers think.

Become a Mumpreneur- Get the balance right

Get the balance right

Many VAs will be inspired to start their business because they are mothers or soon-to-be mothers, in order that they can achieve a balance between their career and spending quality time with their children.

However, how many of you are familiar with this? You have an iPhone or Blackberry and in the mornings, when you ideally need to be getting the children ready for school and spending quality time with them before their day, you’re busy checking emails from any early morning clients!

Become a Mumpreneur- How you Think Controls How Your Business Grows

How you Think Controls How Your Business Grows

Have you been in the situation where you’ve been faced with a difficult task? Whether you’ve been challenged to abseil or to pass an exam, what was your first thought? Did you think, “If I work hard and practice I can do it” or did you think, “I don’t know how to do it now, I’m not a natural at passing exams” or “I can’t abseil and no amount of practice will change that!”
Acknowledging the way your mind works is critical to business success.

The theorist Carol Dweck believes there are two distinctive mindsets, fixed and growth.

Earning cash from your hobby

A good way of earning money to help you through university is to turn your hobby into cash. Of course, it helps if your hobby is doing something that someone is willing to pay money for, but if you can get money for something you enjoy doing and will be doing it anyway, then great!

Become a Mumpreneur- When a Mum became an MBE

When a Mum became an MBE

Back in November I received a letter that I couldn’t quite take in. It was delivered ‘on her majesty’s service’ and was a letter inviting me to accept an honour from the Queen.
I couldn’t understand it at first, someone had regarded me as somebody who should be considered and I was taken aback somewhat. I duly accepted and after reading the words “in strictest confidence” decided to keep the news to immediate family. In reality, I wasn’t entirely sure it was genuine, so I wanted to wait until the announcement.
