12-03-12 Love Tech Weekly Showcase

07 March

I’ve been a busy bee Tech-blog wise, with posts about G+circles and Raspberry Pi. I’ve just pre-ordered a Raspberry Pi for Son2. I had no idea what I was ordering until I watched a video about it and it’s just bloomin’ amazing! And so cheap! If your kid wants to learn programming, it’s the way to go.

I am a little concerned though, that I may be spawning a monster once he learns how to code. I await with trepidation the knock on the door from the police telling me he’s infiltrated the MoD’s top secret alien files. Actually, hacking is no laughing matter – as Gary McKinnon and others will attest. So I’ll also be teaching him hard lessons learned by others – use your skills wisely and with common sense or you may end up with a close encounter you’d really rather not have.

Enjoy the Tech showcase!

It turned out the phone still had the temporary number registered on it, you know, the one that it came with and that I used for a few days until my old number was ported. Here is how to solve the problem.

Dribbling Pensioner- Worlds smallest computer.

THE PI IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A MAN’S HAND.

This has been developed to make it possible for every child in school to get one and to learn how to program a computer.

All proceeds from the project are going to charity as the circuitboard was created by volunteers headed by computer technician Eben Upton at Cambridge university in London.
